4 DAYS SIRIMON ROUTE

Day 1:
Drive from Nairobi through the Kikuyu land to Naro Moru park gate. A drive further 10 km inside the park takes you to Met Station where you will have your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2:
After breakfast, you head uphill on the track to pass the radio mast on your right after about half an hour. After another 30 minutes you will reach the end of the forest belt and enter the moorland. After 5-6 hours from Met Station, you finally arrive at the Mackinder's camp which is at 4300m in the Teleki Valley. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 3:
After an early morning breakfast at 4.00 a.m., the trek leads through steep screed to the Austrian Hut at 4790m. here there will be a short break before the final ascend to point Lenana (4985m) via Lewis Glacier. You descend through the Northern side via Simba Cole to Shipton (4200m). Dinner and overnight will be at the Judmeier's Camp which is about 3 hours descend from Shipton.

Day 4:

After breakfast you finally descend to the park's gate - Sirimon. It takes about 2-3 hours and after saying bye to the crew, the vehicles await you for a transfer to Nairobi

5 DAYS SIRIMON - CHOGORIA ROUTE


Day 1. Nairobi / Nanyuki

Depart Nairobi mid morning for Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is spent in this area for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight in a budget hotel.

Day 2. Old Moses Camp
After breakfast, drive to Sirimon Park Gate. After chek-in start hiking through the Rain Forest for 9 km to Old Moses camp (3300m) for dinner and overnight .

Day 3. Shipton Camp
Depart Old Moses Camp at 7:30 am via Mackinders Valley to Shipton Camp (4200m). The distance takes 6 to 7 hrs. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp.

Day 4.Point Lenana- Chogoria
Depart early in the morning (3:00 am) for the summit, a walk that takes 3 hrs to point Lenana (4985m) arriving at 6:30 in the morning. After sunrise, descend to Mintos Hut for full breakfast and later proceed down through the Gorges valley to Chogoria Bandas and campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 5. Chogoria-NairobiMt Kenya
After breakfast, set on a morning journey to Chogoria (32km). 4WD vehicles are provided but during bad weather, climbers may have to walk some distance as vehicles may not reach the Bandas. From Chogoria transport is provided back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.

5 DAYS NARU-MORO ROUTE

Day 01 Nairobi – Naro Moru

After breakfast depart Nairobi for Naromoru town where you will spend the night at the youth hostel after sorting out and organising any gear you may require to hike up the mountain which also serves as an acclimatisation process as Naro Moru is roughly 2000m above sea level.

Day 02 Naro Moru – Met Station

Drive to the Naro Moru Park gate and hike a distance of 9 km in an average hiking time of 4 hrs. Rest of the day at leisure continuing with the gradual process of acclimatisation process as NaroMoru is roughly 2000m above sea llevel.

Day 03 Met Station – Mackinders

After breakfast hike up the Teleki valley to Makinder's camp where there is a spectacular view of the main peaks. The walking time will be five hrs approximately. Meals and overnight at the hut the attitude here is 4200m

Day 04 Mackinders – Pt Lenana - Mackinders

You will wake up to a pre-down attempt of point lenana. Early start ensures a successful submit scenery pt lenana stands at 4985m above sea level. Descend to Mackinder's camp for dinner and overnight at the hut having conquered Mt Kenya .

Day 05 – Mackinders – Nairobi via Naro Moru

After breakfast descend down to met station and on to the park gate in 3 to 4 hours time. Drive Naro Moru town for lunch then return to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
